F/V Lady Diane
We went CATCHING!

19 Aug 2010

Just a short report but today was an incredible day of both fishing and catching.  I welcomed one of my first year clients, Paul Barnes, who fished with me when I use to run out of Maine aboard the Lady Diane today.  Paul brought along his son Brian and his wife Rita who was to try codfishing for the first time.

We made the long run to the grounds and found a huge pod of humpbacks feeding on herring.  I nestled the Lady Diane amongst the friendly giants and dropped our jigs.  Imediately LARGE market cod grabbed our jigs.  We fished on these for over 2 hours and then found some large pollack and bull haddock as well.  The haddock took a secret bait which I have forgotten to photoshop out of the following photos.  Please dont tell anyone!

I have 7 charters in 9 days coming up so expect real short reports.  Fishing is off the charts and Sept is filling up.  Remember I can only fish weekends and holidays after Sept. 1 and the fall fishing should be one for the books.
