0345..Leave dock
0430 ...Make Bait
0515...Set out spread
0800...4ft NW chop...I am pi$$ed at NOAA
0900...no takers after covering many miles...dead zone
0905...Good Enough (another friend's boat) calls and has limited out on cod...pull plug on tuna troll and steam to his location
1000...Stupid Fishing...drop jig...engage clutch...reel in cod. Seas laying down.
1100...Capt gets itchy..convinces charter to leave biting fish on a hunch
1130...Finback show....ballons go out ( Capt left kite rod at home!)
1200...Depth charge explodes under nearest ballon...FISH ON!
1203..Bog on the fish with 30 class rod (they always hit the smallest one)..John clears deck and mans camera
1205...Fish stays at boat so the Lady Diane Dance begins..I love my boat!
1218...I see color...WTF..
1220...I grab the leader
1220.5..Fish says no way and dives under the boat...get Lady Diane to spin and we are clear again
1223...I grab the leader for real and get my in water tape on her...looks real close to a legal fish.
1225...Lip gaff and lay her on the deck...tape says 58".
1226..Good Enough comes by with 2nd measure to confirm and witness...she is legal and given an ice bath!
1228...High fives for the newbies and being his first, I convince Bob to take a bite of the heart and he does!
1245: Steam to Gloucester with 2 very happy anglers...I couldnt be more pleased!
