Catching Up

23 Aug 2010

Well its Monday and we are having a good NE blow coming up the coast so I am on shore.  Looks like the next few days will give me a chance to repair gear, tie some new leaders and get a little rest as I have been fishing pretty much every day the past 10 days.  I thought I would take this time to also post up some photos of some of the great fish we have been taking including a new entry into the Full Strike Anglers Seasonal pool that was caught recently.  I apologize if I misname any angler but the last week is but a blur of good memories and great fishing adventures.  So here we go.....

Joe is holding a typical  white  bellied cod we are catching right now in late August.  Perfect eating size and clean fillets...you cant find nicer fish than these for the table

No this is not an entry into the FSA seasonal pool but Al and the gang had a good laugh when he called for the gaff on this monster!

People ask if I take many women anglers on these trips.  You bet I do and they catch their share of big fish as shown here with Jenn holding a 22.5 lb steaker which she hooked and landed all by herself.  Great Job Jenn!

And to further prove the point  I am shown here, along with the angler Lorraine Smith of NY, holding the newest  entry into the FSA seasonal pool.  This was the very first fish caught on the trip and the biggest fish Lorraine has ever caught.  Lorraine is now in 3rd place in the 2010 pool tied with Ed Bramer with this 25 lb steaker cod.  Congratulations Lorraine on this  great catch!

The summer is winding down but I have great expectations for an epic fall season.  The cod fishing should be getting even better (hard to believe) and the tuna, who have been in hiding the past week, will come on with a vengence.  My September calendar is filling fast (remember I can only fish on weekends and holidays after Sept 1st) but I do plan to fish right through October.  As the water cools you can expect some of the best "catching" of the season.  Give me a call and reserve you freezer filler trip  today!

Tight Lines,
