Watch out Fish!
3 May 2010

Early last Thursday morning,  I was admitted to the hospital with a severe case of pancreatitis which resulted in me having to cancel all of my  last weekend's charters.  After a bunch of tests, an a non surgical procedure I felt well enough on Sat. afternoon to head butt a couple doctors and got them to release me from jail.  They weren't too happy with my insistance to go home but I know what I have to do to get well and getting home ASAP was the first prescription that needed filling.  I will need to have a simple surgical proceedure down the road but I will deal with that when the time comes.

I want to take this opportunity to personally thank TIm, Ralph, Bob, and Robert and all your gangs for being so understanding.  I know how much you all looked forward to fishing with me and I can tell you the only one more disappointed was myself.  I am on the fish and I know if I could have taken you out we would have loaded the Lady D to the gunwalls in short order.  The good news the season has just begun and the fishing will be great all year in my estimation.  Thank you again...I really appreciate the kind words and concerns you have expressed to me.

From my fishing friend' s reports I can tell you the big news is that the big haddock have moved on the bank in shallow water.  One buddy took a boat load of bull haddock ranging in size to 31" (10lbs+) on my favorite secret bait!  Another captain from my harbor hit the spot I fish for cod on Sat around 0600 and by 0800 was leaving the area with a boat limit of cod and spent the rest of the day catching big bugeyes.  I almost had a relapse when I got his report Sat. night.  I can't wait for Saturday to get here!  Our only concern is Mother Nature as she showed her mean side on Thursday when she sent 40knt+ winds across the water.  Hopefully she has had her fun for a while and will give us  a an extended stretch of nice weather with calm seas.

Tight Lines,

Capt. George
