Happy New Year Everyone!
Spring must be just around the corner as I booked the first charter of the 2010 season yesterday....I must be getting old as spring cant get here soon enough!
Here is some information for the 2010 season.
Cod season in the Gulf of Maine opens on April 15th and our first available charter date is April 17th. I will be running on weekends/holidays only during April and May ( no I didnt retire yet) however, I will be available for charters during the week of April 18th as it is a school vacation week for me! The end of April and beginning of May is prime time for haddock (as well as cod) in shallow water as they are up on the bank spawning.
I am pleased to announce that we will be again sailing from Cape Ann Marina Slip J2 on the charter dock (same as last year). I think this Marina offers the best service around and even though it is expensive to operate from, I want my customers to have an A1 experience while fishing with me and staying in Gloucester.
I have tried to keep most of the charter rates the same as last year and hopefully the fuel prices will remain stable. Regardless of what happens in terms of fuel price increases, my policy is that I will honor the charter price I quote you at the time of booking with no "surcharges" added.
The Cape Ann Marina Resort (located next to the charter dock) will again offer discounts to anyone fishing with me. Be sure to tell them when you book your rooms.
I am considering having a seasonal pool for the largest fish taken on the Lady Diane. I am still working out prize structure and details and I will let everyone know soon.
Finally, to get the 2010 season off and running here is a special deal for the faithful followers of this website.
Anyone who books any offshore charter (cod, tuna, shark) between now and April 1, will receive a $50 discount on each charter they book. Charters can be booked for anytime during the 2010 season and you can mix and match. So give me a call at 978-590-2131 and save some money on your chartering budget in 2010
Thats all for now...time to repair reels and sharpen hooks!
Tight Lines,
Capt George
