The Lady Diane has been pulled for the season as I finally conceeded in my battle with Mother Nature. SInce September 1st I have lost nearly 80% of all my booked charters due to weather. What was really upsetting was the fish (both ground fish and tuna) were and still are here in great numbers. Unfrortuantely, with a smaller boat and limited time (I can only fish on weekends since I am back teaching) I just could not get the wind not to blow on the weekends. My only solace was that even many of the large sportfishing charter boats in the harbor experienced the same problem and saw them tied up on the dock on weekends as well.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who fished with me this year and hope you are still enjoying some of those great fillets/steaks that you worked so hard for. I plan to return to Cape Ann Marina next year as I believe this facility offers my customers the amenities that they desire. I also enjoyed working with the other Captains in this marina as they are both gentlemen and pros at what they do. I learned alot from them and I hope they picked up a couple tips from me as well.
I will be off to the woods as soon as I get the Lady Diane winterized and if I find Bambi's Great Grandfather I will post some photos here as well.
Until then I will leave you with the photo of my son and I landing a giant tuna last September. I hope that next year I will be taking many more photos of you with you great catches again.
