No Trip Sunday
21 Jun 2009
We stole one from the weatherman yesterday but today, Sunday, is a different story. Strong NE winds from a storm centered over George's bank has the Lady Diane, along with most of the charter fleet, tied up in the Harbor. I called my charter on Friday and let them know that we wouldn't be sailing and luckily I called it right on the money. Because many of my customers travel a great distance to fish with me, I always want to be sure the trip will sail. I would rather call off a charter than take the chance that you will be disappointed once you get to the docks.
Ground fishing continues to be outstanding and in fact it keeps getting better. Everyone here has tuna fever but once charlie is on board you have the option of putting some great cod/haddock fillets in the boat as well.
Speaking of Tuna...the fish are pushing north and I hope to get a full fledged tuna charter in later this week (first one of the season). I know where the fish are (a long run) but the reports are excellent. Lets up this latest blow dosent turn things upside down.
Finally, as of Friday, I will be available for charter 7 days a week as school is now out. Week day fishing is the best as there are fewer boats and less competition on the grounds. Less traffic is especially important when hunting charlie. I also begin my CapeAnnKids charters beginning July 1st. These trips are designed for the young anglers in your families and made for capturing the special Kodak moments you will cherish forever. I have the lobster traps soaking and the bugs are starting to crawl pretty good.

These trips sail regardless of weather conditions since we stay in protected waters...perfect for even the youngest anglers in your family. All these trips are 2 hours in duration but can be extended if you desire. If you are in the area, it is a perfect activity for those days when the weatherman provides less than ideal beach weather or for a change of pace from building sand castles. Give me a call today at 978-590-2131 and book a CapeAnnKids trip!
Tight lines,
Capt George
